PBA News Trade 2021: TNT to Trade Parks to Phoenix for Matthew Wright


There have been many big trades in the history of the PBA. A Bobby Ray Parks for Matthew Wright would definitely be one of the biggest. 

Parks did not renew his contract with TNT Tropang Giga after the PBA Bubble. He is on a sabbatical citing family and personal reasons. This angered the MVP group, who said Parks wasn't being honest about why het refused to sign with TNT.

There are speculations Parks was not happy with the contract TNT offered him. There are reports Parks and TNT are still negotiating, but if nothing happens, TNT is willing to trade him for Matthew Wright.

But why would Phoenix trade Matthew Wright for Parks? They are both superstars and are equal value. But would you trade a dependable Wright for Parks?

Phoenix might not have a choice because Wright reportedly wants out of Phoenix. The reasons are unclear, but it might have something to do with the uncertainty surrounding the franchise. 

Businessman Dennis Uy, who owns Phoenix, wants to sell Phoenix to pay off debts. This might be the reason Wright wants out. If that is true, then the Parks for Wright trade might really happen.

Ginebra Planning to Get Parks and Wright | PBA trade news now

Ginebra is already a favorite, but there are persistent rumors that the team wants to be even stronger by adding more players. Two names often linked to Ginebra are Bobby Ray Parks and Matthew Wright. Parks has made it clear he wants to play for Ginebra. But the situation he has found himself in makes trading him difficult. TNT owns his trade rights, and they wil not release him without a suitable replacement.  There is also the possibility that Parks might end up going overseas to play. Greg Slaughter to Return to Ginebra? | PBA Rumors

With the uncertainty about Japeth Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger, is there a possibility that Greg Slaughter will return to Ginebra? Aguilar and Standhardinger have huge contract offers from Japan. If one or both of them accept it, that will leave Ginebra with a big problem, literally. They need someone who will man the middle.  Could Slaughter be the answer? While Christian has struggled with the triangle offense of Cone, Greg is familiar with it. The problem has always been he has never played well with Japeth.  But if Japeth accepts the offer from Japan, that could make things easier for Greg.
