PBA trades 2021: Ginebra to Get Herndon, Belga to Magnolia in 5 Team Trade


If plans push through, there will be a massive, 5 team trade involving Barangay Ginebra, Magnolia, Phoenix, Alaska and Rain or Shine. This is how the blockbuster trade is supposed to unfold:

Ginebra receives: 

Robbie Herndon

Alaska receives: 

Jio Jalalon

Rain or Shine receives:

Jorey Napoles

Rome Dela Rosa

Jared Dillinger

jesper Ayaay

Ginebra's season 49 2nd round pick

Magnolia receives:

Beau Belga

Jansen Rios

Adrian Wong

Alaska's season 47 2nd round pick

Phoenix receives:

Mikee DiGregorio

This is still under negotiations and there is no word yet if it will push through. Alaska is reportedly having second thoughts.

But Alaska is already over the Fil-Foreigner limit of five, so there is no question they have to let at least one go. So it is not surprising to see Herndon and DiGregorio mentioned in trade talks.

Trade rumors about Beau Belga have been circulating for a long time, and many believe ROS acquired Bradwyn Guinto specifically because they expect Belga to be traded.

Jio Jalalon is one of the top guards of Magnolia and an important player. But the controversy he has found himself has not gone well with management, who reportedly want him out.

Ginebra Planning to Get Parks and Wright | PBA trade news now

Ginebra is already a favorite, but there are persistent rumors that the team wants to be even stronger by adding more players. Two names often linked to Ginebra are Bobby Ray Parks and Matthew Wright. Parks has made it clear he wants to play for Ginebra. But the situation he has found himself in makes trading him difficult. TNT owns his trade rights, and they wil not release him without a suitable replacement.  There is also the possibility that Parks might end up going overseas to play. With the uncertainty about Japeth Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger, is there a possibility that Greg Slaughter will return to Ginebra? Aguilar and Standhardinger have huge contract offers from Japan. If one or both of them accept it, that will leave Ginebra with a big problem, literally. They need someone who will man the middle.  Could Slaughter be the answer? While Christian has struggled with the triangle offense of Cone, Greg is familiar with it. The problem has always been he has never played well with Japeth.  But if Japeth accepts the offer from Japan, that could make things easier for Greg. But will Greg want to come back knowing Cone wanted to trade him for Christian? And what about Magnolia who needs Greg too? And it could be possible that Ginebra will want a younger big man like Troy Rike or James Laput, maybe even someone from the draft.
