Is Jason Perkns headed to SMB? | PBA news trade 2021


The news of Phoenix being up for sale has not died down. Owner Dennis U said they are still looking for investors willing to pump money into the struggling company.

For the nvestors though, they will do that if Phoenix cuts costs. And that might include their basketball team which is non essential. That would mean trading their top players to save on money, players like Matthew Wright and Jason Perkins.

And as Arwind Santos said in an interview, they need another big man, and Perkins will fit the bill. Junmar Fajardo is their center and Arwind their power forward, but Mo Tautuaa has to play both positions. 

SMB has Gotladera and Sena, but coach Austria is not using them. Instead Bambabm Gamalinda has been subbing Arwind, and he is undersized. With Perkins in the team, SMB can now field in whomever they want.

But of course this is conjecture at this point. We have to wait and see what trades SMC pulls off in case Phoenix does go for sale. If Phoenix starts trading marquee players, then that is a sign the company has new investors or will be sold completely.

TerraFirma Wants Prince Caperal of Ginebra | Ginebra Trade

TerraFirma reportedly wants Ginebra backup big man Prince Caperal. But it is unclear who they will give up in return, or if the Gin Kings will agree. Terrafirma has been battered by injuries, and having someone like Caperal can certainly help them. But is it a good idea for Ginebra to trade him? Caperal had a breakout last season and won most improved player. But his playing time has gone down with the arrival of Christian Standhardinger. Caperal would definitely get more playing time if he was at TerraFirma, a team that needs a big to pair up with James Laput. And if Caperal were to leave Ginebra, that could give more playing time for rookie Ken Sagulo, who has been languishing on the bench. Such a trade will benefit Caperal and Sagulo. Greg Slaughter to Return to Ginebra? | PBA Rumors

With the uncertainty about Japeth Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger, is there a possibility that Greg Slaughter will return to Ginebra? Aguilar and Standhardinger have huge contract offers from Japan. If one or both of them accept it, that will leave Ginebra with a big problem, literally. They need someone who will man the middle.  Could Slaughter be the answer? While Christian has struggled with the triangle offense of Cone, Greg is familiar with it. The problem has always been he has never played well with Japeth.  But if Japeth accepts the offer from Japan, that could make things easier for Greg. But will Greg want to come back knowing Cone wanted to trade him for Christian? And what about Magnolia who needs Greg too? And it could be possible that Ginebra will want a younger big man like Troy Rike or James Laput, maybe even someone from the draft.
