Magnolia is Getting a Big Man From Ginebra | PBA trade news now


Magnolia fans know their team needs a big man. And even though Ginebra said they don't want to trade Prince Caperal, Magnolia is still interested.

And they are willing to offer Jackson Corpuz. Now these are sister teams so technically they cannot trade players. But that has never been a problem for SMC and MVP teams since they often use TerraFirma, NorthPort or Blackwater to facilitate the trades.

If this trade does push thru, Caperal will be a big help to Magnolia. He has an outside shot, exactly what coach Victolero likes in big men. he can also patrol the paint if necessary. With Pingris retired and Dionisio undersized, a Caperal and Sangalang tandem will be good for the Hotshots.

Corpuz will also be an asset to Ginebra. He is a rugged defender and plays much bigger than his height. Cone can put him in the 4 or 3 position and can guard the top scorers of the opposing team or even imports.

However, Cone has said he does not want to trade Caperal. He likes having a 3 big man rotation. But with rookie Ken Sagulo, he will still have three bigs. So will he agree?

Of course the SMC teams need to give up a player to get another team to join the trade, but that should not be a problem.

Ginebra Planning to Get Parks and Wright | PBA trade news now

Ginebra is already a favorite, but there are persistent rumors that the team wants to be even stronger by adding more players. Two names often linked to Ginebra are Bobby Ray Parks and Matthew Wright. Parks has made it clear he wants to play for Ginebra. But the situation he has found himself in makes trading him difficult. TNT owns his trade rights, and they wil not release him without a suitable replacement.  There is also the possibility that Parks might end up going overseas to play. With the uncertainty about Japeth Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger, is there a possibility that Greg Slaughter will return to Ginebra? Aguilar and Standhardinger have huge contract offers from Japan. If one or both of them accept it, that will leave Ginebra with a big problem, literally. They need someone who will man the middle.  Could Slaughter be the answer? While Christian has struggled with the triangle offense of Cone, Greg is familiar with it. The problem has always been he has never played well with Japeth.  But if Japeth accepts the offer from Japan, that could make things easier for Greg.
