Big Trades Coming For Ginebra


Ginebra is teetering on the brink of elimination, and this is not good news for the defending champion. This also means big changes are afoot if this happens.

First off Ginebra needs shooters. Jeff Chan is now a free agent, but there are other players they can get like Wright though he commands a high price. Tenorio is showing his age, and Pringle has been struggling as well. Since they are not getting any younger, new players are needed.

Ginebra also has too many players at the 4 and 5. Sagulo, Standhardinger, Aguilar, Caperal , JDV, Tolentino, Mariano, Dillinger, Dela Cruz, Enriquez. This is not a balanced lineup.

Maybe it is for the better if Ginebra were to be eliminated, as it will serve as a wake up call for management to implement changes. Right now there does not seem to be any untouchable or untradeable here. Even Aguilar and Pringle can  be traded as they are no longer young.

Ginebra can still make a run and make the playoffs. But even if they do, it is time for the coaching staff to add new players to this group.

Blackwater is said to be interested in Magnolia backup big man Kyle Pascual. And the team might be willing to offer a draft pick or player. We all know that Magnolia is in need of a big man. TerraFirma Wants Prince Caperal of Ginebra | Ginebra Trade

TerraFirma reportedly wants Ginebra backup big man Prince Caperal. But it is unclear who they will give up in return, or if the Gin Kings will agree. Terrafirma has been battered by injuries, and having someone like Caperal can certainly help them. But is it a good idea for Ginebra to trade him? Caperal had a breakout last season and won most improved player. But his playing time has gone down with the arrival of Christian Standhardinger. Caperal would definitely get more playing time if he was at TerraFirma, a team that needs a big to pair up with James Laput. And if Caperal were to leave Ginebra, that could give more playing time for rookie Ken Sagulo, who has been languishing on the bench. Such a trade will benefit Caperal and Sagulo. Greg Slaughter to Return to Ginebra? | PBA Rumors

With the uncertainty about Japeth Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger, is there a possibility that Greg Slaughter will return to Ginebra? Aguilar and Standhardinger have huge contract offers from Japan. If one or both of them accept it, that will leave Ginebra with a big problem, literally. They need someone who will man the middle.  Could Slaughter be the answer? While Christian has struggled with the triangle offense of Cone, Greg is familiar with it. The problem has always been he has never played well with Japeth.  But if Japeth accepts the offer from Japan, that could make things easier for Greg. But will Greg want to come back knowing Cone wanted to trade him for Christian? And what about Magnolia who needs Greg too? And it could be possible that Ginebra will want a younger big man like Troy Rike or James Laput, maybe even someone from the draft.
