Did Ginebra Make a Mistake Trading Greg Slaughter? | PBA news trade


This is the question that a lot of fans are now asking. Asof the moment, Ginebra is in serious danger of being eliminated, and some fans say the team was better off with Greg. 

The problem with Christian so far is he does not seem to fit with Ginebra. He plays well enough scoring wise, but there are times when he is inconsistent. But ever since he arrived, it seems to have affected the chemistry of the team.

Giinebra did great last year, winning the championship even without Greg. Adding Christian seems to have made things worse. Caperal, who had such a solid season, has struggled. Aguilar has been inconsistent as well.

Even so, we do not expect Ginebra to trade Christian unless they get a superstar in return, like a Matthew Wright. 

Greg meanwhile, is putting up solid numbers for Northport. But will he still put up those number if he was with Ginebra? From the looks of it, it seems like Aguilar plays his best when he is the only big man on the team.

Again, it is unlikely Cone will give up on Christian after just one conference, but there clearly needs to be changes for Ginebra especially if they are eliminated early. 

They need more shooters and guards to help Tenorio and Pringle. Then they have to figure out what to do with all his bigs, including Christian. And if he can co exist with Japeth or not.

TerraFirma Wants Prince Caperal of Ginebra | Ginebra Trade

TerraFirma reportedly wants Ginebra backup big man Prince Caperal. But it is unclear who they will give up in return, or if the Gin Kings will agree. Terrafirma has been battered by injuries, and having someone like Caperal can certainly help them. But is it a good idea for Ginebra to trade him? Caperal had a breakout last season and won most improved player. But his playing time has gone down with the arrival of Christian Standhardinger. Caperal would definitely get more playing time if he was at TerraFirma, a team that needs a big to pair up with James Laput. And if Caperal were to leave Ginebra, that could give more playing time for rookie Ken Sagulo, who has been languishing on the bench. Such a trade will benefit Caperal and Sagulo. Greg Slaughter to Return to Ginebra? | PBA Rumors

With the uncertainty about Japeth Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger, is there a possibility that Greg Slaughter will return to Ginebra? Aguilar and Standhardinger have huge contract offers from Japan. If one or both of them accept it, that will leave Ginebra with a big problem, literally. They need someone who will man the middle.  Could Slaughter be the answer? While Christian has struggled with the triangle offense of Cone, Greg is familiar with it. The problem has always been he has never played well with Japeth.  But if Japeth accepts the offer from Japan, that could make things easier for Greg. But will Greg want to come back knowing Cone wanted to trade him for Christian? And what about Magnolia who needs Greg too? And it could be possible that Ginebra will want a younger big man like Troy Rike or James Laput, maybe even someone from the draft.
