Northport to Trade Jamie Malonzo Soon. But Which Team?

 


Jamie Malonzo has become the 3rd leading scorer on Northport, and they are now moving up the standings. While playing well, attention is on how long Malonzo will remain with the Batang Pier.

Rumors abound that he will eventually be traded to SMB. Remember those rumors that CJ Perez will go to SMB, it happened. So can we expect the same thing?

In all likelihood yes, but not right away. SMB will probably let Malonzo play a few more conferences with Northport to see how well he does. And of course the Beermen have to decide who they will trade in return.

The name that comes up most often is Alex Cabagnot. Of course Alex was traded to Northport before for Sol Mercado. But he eventually found his way back to SMB.

But now it looks like the new SMB backcourt of Romeo and Perez are doing well along with Marcio and Ross. Ross is a better defender and playmaker than Cabagnot, so he will likely stay. But who knows what Alfrancis Chua has in mind.

But one thing is sure. Malonzo will not stay in Northport for long, and he will almost certainly be traded to an SMC team.

TerraFirma Wants Prince Caperal of Ginebra | Ginebra Trade

TerraFirma reportedly wants Ginebra backup big man Prince Caperal. But it is unclear who they will give up in return, or if the Gin Kings will agree. Terrafirma has been battered by injuries, and having someone like Caperal can certainly help them. But is it a good idea for Ginebra to trade him? Caperal had a breakout last season and won most improved player. But his playing time has gone down with the arrival of Christian Standhardinger. Caperal would definitely get more playing time if he was at TerraFirma, a team that needs a big to pair up with James Laput. And if Caperal were to leave Ginebra, that could give more playing time for rookie Ken Sagulo, who has been languishing on the bench. Such a trade will benefit Caperal and Sagulo. Greg Slaughter to Return to Ginebra? | PBA Rumors

With the uncertainty about Japeth Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger, is there a possibility that Greg Slaughter will return to Ginebra? Aguilar and Standhardinger have huge contract offers from Japan. If one or both of them accept it, that will leave Ginebra with a big problem, literally. They need someone who will man the middle.  Could Slaughter be the answer? While Christian has struggled with the triangle offense of Cone, Greg is familiar with it. The problem has always been he has never played well with Japeth.  But if Japeth accepts the offer from Japan, that could make things easier for Greg. But will Greg want to come back knowing Cone wanted to trade him for Christian? And what about Magnolia who needs Greg too? And it could be possible that Ginebra will want a younger big man like Troy Rike or James Laput, maybe even someone from the draft.
