Tory Rosario for Calvin Oftana - Will it Push Through? | PBA News and Rumors


Calvin Oftana has shown flashes of brilliance, including a 34 point outburst. As the no 3 pick a lot is expected of him and he is slowly showing us why. Yeng Guiao is lucky to have him but for how long?

The talk right now is TNT might facilitate a 3 team trade to get Oftana in exchange for Troy Rosario. Given the past dealings of TNT and NLEX, we should not be surprised if this happens.

Rosario has been a mainstay at TNT for years. But he had a poor performance in the last Philippine Cup finals, and his game has been inconsistent. For this reason he has been the subject of many trade rumors.

He was in fact reported to be on the trading block for Mac Belo, but we now that did not happen. Now his name is being linked in a trade with Oftana.

Being sister teams the two cannot trade directly. But that is not a problem as Blackwater will only be too happy to help them.

The question is what will Yeng Guiao do? He is already unhappy with what happened to Mikey Williams, and now what if they lose Oftana as well? Only time will tell what will happen, but do not be surprised if Oftana does move to TNT.

TerraFirma Wants Prince Caperal of Ginebra | Ginebra Trade

TerraFirma reportedly wants Ginebra backup big man Prince Caperal. But it is unclear who they will give up in return, or if the Gin Kings will agree. Terrafirma has been battered by injuries, and having someone like Caperal can certainly help them. But is it a good idea for Ginebra to trade him? Caperal had a breakout last season and won most improved player. But his playing time has gone down with the arrival of Christian Standhardinger. Caperal would definitely get more playing time if he was at TerraFirma, a team that needs a big to pair up with James Laput. And if Caperal were to leave Ginebra, that could give more playing time for rookie Ken Sagulo, who has been languishing on the bench. Such a trade will benefit Caperal and Sagulo. Greg Slaughter to Return to Ginebra? | PBA Rumors

With the uncertainty about Japeth Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger, is there a possibility that Greg Slaughter will return to Ginebra? Aguilar and Standhardinger have huge contract offers from Japan. If one or both of them accept it, that will leave Ginebra with a big problem, literally. They need someone who will man the middle.  Could Slaughter be the answer? While Christian has struggled with the triangle offense of Cone, Greg is familiar with it. The problem has always been he has never played well with Japeth.  But if Japeth accepts the offer from Japan, that could make things easier for Greg. But will Greg want to come back knowing Cone wanted to trade him for Christian? And what about Magnolia who needs Greg too? And it could be possible that Ginebra will want a younger big man like Troy Rike or James Laput, maybe even someone from the draft.
