Why Northport Will Trade Greg Slaughter | PBA Trades



When Slaughter was acquired by Northport for Standhardinger, few people believed he would stay there long, and few people still do. And there are many reasons why Greg will eventually leave, the only question is which team.


Anyone who ha watched the PBA for a while knows by now that Northport is close to SMC, and often provides the players that the three SMC teams needs.

So now the question is which SMC team will Greg go to?

The first option is SMB. We have known a while that SMB is interested in Greg, especially with the uncertainty about Junmar. But now it looks like Fajardo is all right. So SMB might not have a need for Greg.

That means Greg will likely go to Magnolia, which is in need of a big man right now. And the talks of a Jalalon and Slaughter trade continue to get stronger.

However is it possible that Greg ends up back in Ginebra? We know that Greg wants to play there, but it is unlikely. First Tim Cone will do everything he can to make the Standhardnger and Aguilar pair work, an second, we have seen that Greg simply does not work well with Japeth.

One thing is certain. When SMC asks for Greg, Northport will be more than willing to give him up.

TerraFirma Wants Prince Caperal of Ginebra | Ginebra Trade

TerraFirma reportedly wants Ginebra backup big man Prince Caperal. But it is unclear who they will give up in return, or if the Gin Kings will agree. Terrafirma has been battered by injuries, and having someone like Caperal can certainly help them. But is it a good idea for Ginebra to trade him? Caperal had a breakout last season and won most improved player. But his playing time has gone down with the arrival of Christian Standhardinger. Caperal would definitely get more playing time if he was at TerraFirma, a team that needs a big to pair up with James Laput. And if Caperal were to leave Ginebra, that could give more playing time for rookie Ken Sagulo, who has been languishing on the bench. Such a trade will benefit Caperal and Sagulo. Greg Slaughter to Return to Ginebra? | PBA Rumors

With the uncertainty about Japeth Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger, is there a possibility that Greg Slaughter will return to Ginebra? Aguilar and Standhardinger have huge contract offers from Japan. If one or both of them accept it, that will leave Ginebra with a big problem, literally. They need someone who will man the middle.  Could Slaughter be the answer? While Christian has struggled with the triangle offense of Cone, Greg is familiar with it. The problem has always been he has never played well with Japeth.  But if Japeth accepts the offer from Japan, that could make things easier for Greg. But will Greg want to come back knowing Cone wanted to trade him for Christian? And what about Magnolia who needs Greg too? And it could be possible that Ginebra will want a younger big man like Troy Rike or James Laput, maybe even someone from the draft.
