Magnolia to Trade Jackson Corpuz For Kevin Ferrer| PBA Trade Update 2021


There are reports going around that Magnolia will trade forward Jackson Corpuz for Kevin Ferrer. The deal might also include Garvo Lanete and Magnolia's Loren Brill plus 2 second round picks.

A Corpuz for Ferrer deal straight up is fair enough. Ferrer is the better offensive player but Corpuz is stronger in defense. However, both are actually good two way players. 

Ferrr's advantage is he has a three point shot. And that is something Victolero wants, a big man who can shoot the three like Aldrech Ramos and Robbie Herndon before.

if Magnolia gets Ferrer they gain more height and additional scoring. This will make life easier for guys like Paul Lee and Calvin Abueva to score. Northprot will get a solid defender in Corpuz. With Jamie Malonzo and Art Dela Cruz at the wings, Ferrer is unlikely to get more playing time there anyway.

If Magnolia wants Garvo Lanete as well, they have to give more than just the barely used Loren Brill and two second round picks. But let us see, given the PBA's handling of trades, they might approve it anyway.

Blackwater is said to be interested in Magnolia backup big man Kyle Pascual. And the team might be willing to offer a draft pick or player. We all know that Magnolia is in need of a big man. TerraFirma Wants Prince Caperal of Ginebra | Ginebra Trade

TerraFirma reportedly wants Ginebra backup big man Prince Caperal. But it is unclear who they will give up in return, or if the Gin Kings will agree. Terrafirma has been battered by injuries, and having someone like Caperal can certainly help them. But is it a good idea for Ginebra to trade him? Caperal had a breakout last season and won most improved player. But his playing time has gone down with the arrival of Christian Standhardinger. Caperal would definitely get more playing time if he was at TerraFirma, a team that needs a big to pair up with James Laput. And if Caperal were to leave Ginebra, that could give more playing time for rookie Ken Sagulo, who has been languishing on the bench. Such a trade will benefit Caperal and Sagulo. Greg Slaughter to Return to Ginebra? | PBA Rumors

With the uncertainty about Japeth Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger, is there a possibility that Greg Slaughter will return to Ginebra? Aguilar and Standhardinger have huge contract offers from Japan. If one or both of them accept it, that will leave Ginebra with a big problem, literally. They need someone who will man the middle.  Could Slaughter be the answer? While Christian has struggled with the triangle offense of Cone, Greg is familiar with it. The problem has always been he has never played well with Japeth.  But if Japeth accepts the offer from Japan, that could make things easier for Greg. But will Greg want to come back knowing Cone wanted to trade him for Christian? And what about Magnolia who needs Greg too? And it could be possible that Ginebra will want a younger big man like Troy Rike or James Laput, maybe even someone from the draft.
